Richard Dempsey was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1984 and a J.D. in law in 1988 from the University of Saskatchewan at Saskatoon. Since then he has been practising almost exclusively in the Lower Mainland of B.C. Richard has practised primarily in criminal and civil litigation. His criminal law experience is primarily as a federal prosecutor where he spent many days in court appearing on a wide range of federal matters. Prior to joining PLLR Lawyers, he practised for almost a decade in the area of personal injury with a highly skilled team of litigators at a prominent Surrey law firm.

Richard has been a member in good standing of the Law Society of British Columbia since 1988. He contributes to his community in a variety of ways, mostly involving his family and their personal pursuits.
